Here we give you some of our credentials as
proven financial successes on the web.
Background
We are a married couple living in the UK, who,
for 16 years worked in white collar Companies, progressing with promotions to
pretty highly paid jobs giving us a joint income well in excess of the national
average. With outgoings to match !
We found ourselves in a trap - income rich v time
poor ! Having what seemed like too many financial commitments (ie large
mortgage, credit cards etc) to give up our jobs.
The Dream
Our dream was to live abroad, somewhere hot,
where the skies are high, the days long and bright and where the atmosphere is
relaxed and free. And we didn't want to wait until we retired!
To do this, we knew that we would need a good
income and no work or financial ties.
We were frustrated that others seemed to manage
to live our dream, people we felt maybe had less ability than us!
We pondered why this was the case many times -
and knew that the answer was that we didn't have the courage to give up what we
had in the hope of gaining something better. And we decided very early on that
whatever we did in pursuit of our dream had to be low risk.
We would not be prepared to spend thousands that
we might lose and we would not be prepared to reduce our income by giving up our
precious jobs until we were sure that income could be replaced.
How it all Began
We shared a hobby. Computers and the Internet. In
1990 we bought a top of the range PC and loved it, by 1993 we were surfing the
internet, basic though it was at the time !
By 1995 we had put up our own website, you know
the kind, this is us, this is where we live, this is our favorite music etc. It
was fun and we built on it, adding a guestbook and counter, pages about our
favorite holidays and so on.
In 1997, we added a search box to our site and
found that the search engine would pay us a few cents every time someone
searched from our site ! We were amazed and promptly moved the search box to the
top of our site where it could be seen and hopefully used by everyone that
visited.
Needless to say we didn't earn much, but the
money making concept was born ... though we didn't yet link it to our dream.
It wasn't until 2000 that we realised that there
was real potential in what we had stumbled across and we set about trying lots
of new things. Some worked. Some didn't. There are a lot of scams out there and
we took a lot of bad advise and wasted time on unprofitable activities.
We learnt the hard way.
After a year of playing around with different
concepts, strategies and tactics, we decided upon a direction in which to
channel our energies. And began to form and implement a strategy for getting
rich on the internet.
The Results of our Money Making Strategy
Above is a chart that tracks our monthly profit
since March 2000. As you can see, it didn't' happen overnight for us, and we made some
mistakes along the way, before hitting on a winning formula. We're still
learning and we're still increasing our income, but we have more than replaced our white
collar income with earnings from the web and since March 2002, we work for
ourselves !
By 2005 we plan to be living our dream knowing
that we are financially secure without being tied to the rat race !
